Clutch and gear oil problem

recently my differential blew and the spider gears popped a hole in my bell housing and leaked gear oil all over the place, i just wanted to know why everyone has to replace their clutch once gear oil gets on it, ive looked in past forums and no one gives a real answer they just say you have to, cant you use brake cleaner or a strong enough detergent. I do not want to buy a new clutch because i have a luk stage 2 and its only 2 or so months old and would like to keep it.

also if anyone would happen to have a spare bell housing in good condition that would be great.

The car had an lsd insert but i still had wheel hop, would anyone have a real lsd they are trying to get rid of, im poor and need to get my car back to shape running asap

The pessure plate should not need to be replaced, but the disk itself is organtic and will absorb oil. The bellhousing can be welded if you can't find a used one.

have people welded theirs before and not have any problems with it? i talked to some shops and they told me its not good but they may be looking for a couple extra bucks and a guy i knew that has his own shop said it would be welded easily but im just wondering if it would screw up later.

also if clutches are organic will the clutch eventually break if i keep using it and cause serious damage or just break and i have to replace it, its still on warranty and ive had if for 2 months, could i just ride it out till it goes and replace it through warranty or would this really mess my car up if i just clean it and leave it

can anyone tell me how long a clutch thats been covered in gear oil will last and if i keep using it if it would cause more damage?

you'll have it all out anyway... just replace the clutch.

man its practically a brand new clutch, only been on for a couple of months, could the clutch if cleaned well hold for a few more months because i only have 600 in the bank and need to fix the tranny part first to get it moving......

i hear ya dude, but look, the thing is it might work, but it might not. gear oil doesnt just evaporate, it soaks in and lubricates... i dont really want my friction disk to be lubricated, you know? try it, but if it doesnt work you're gonna have to yank it all out again.

it was fun to me taking it out with my friend, it was easy except a cv joint wouldnt come out, but with my friend and an owners manual it took us 2 1/2 - 3 hours to drop it, first time ever dropping a tranny for both of us. ill be cheap and go with goo gone and brake cleaner on that clutch, if it still feels slick or after we put the tranny back in and doesnt catch i guess it will just stay infront of my house even longer, but at least it will stay there till i get more money on its tires and not jack stands
