When I let off the throttle, at low or moderate RPM's, I can hear a kind of clunking sound. At first I thought maybe it was air related as I noticed this right after installing my 1g bov. I imagined the valve on the bov closing too hard/loud or maybe my throttle plate in the throttle body closing funny or something.

But I'm starting to consider if this sound is possibly my transmission? maybe my rear end?

I'm at a loss, for now I try to let off the gas slower to prevent evoking this sound.

Any advice or ideas/theories are welcome!

Check all your lugnuts.. I had this happen on my RS and it turned out my front driver's wheel was loose enough to shift with the weight of the car when I left off the gas. Dumbasses who did my alignment didn't give them a final check after taking the car for a last drive.

Might be a tranny mount or motor mount that is broke. If that does end of being the case then check all of them, because if one broke then others might have also and only fixing one won't do anything. Could also be U joints on your driveshaft, or CV joints on your axles. Let us know whats up.

I also am willing to go with motor/tranny mount, but I'd also have to hear it. Is it a low clunk that seems to come from a heavy object? or is it more like a sudden pop? Check and recheck everything from tires to mounts.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I get the day off tomorrow so I'll crawl underneath her and wiggle everything attached to the drivetrain to see if anything is loose. I'll also check the motor mounts as well as anything else you guys suggested.

and to answer a few questions its a manual, and its a low sound. :dsm:

I agree with Defiant... as well you should. I'd be sure to check those bell housing bolts, if they are loose you could crack your bell housing if you haven't already.

my car makes a weird noise, when i like give it gas, but just around 3-4 thousand rpms. I thought mine was the BOV, tryin to blow out air but im not flooring it, so it doesent have any, Im not sure. Its like a clunkin kinda sound
