I know most of you would never do it, but since I'm using the 14b for a 'homemade' turbo setup, I need to clock the turbo.

Here's a few questions I had. First off, do you just break off that 'notch' that's on the exhaust side to set it where you want? Otherwise the notch will prevent the center section from seating correctly with the exhaust housing.

Also if I need to clock the cold side also (so i can get the wastegate to fit after I rotated the hot side), would that throw the ballance off the turbo or will I be good as long as I don't remove the fins?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I rather not mess up the turbo before even getting the car running right. :p

Garrett turbo, you can clock them by loosening the housing bolts on both hot and cold side. On Mitsu turbo, you can't reclock the exhaust side without cutting out the dowl pin and I don't know about the compressor side.

If you want to clock it, trim the notch in the compressor housing and spin it. If your going to trim the notch in the exaust housing, be sure the oil feeed is on the top if the cartrige when you put it back together.
Ive doen it befor on a few tdo5h FMIC cars

Can you explain this to me? I don't understand it. Thanks for the replies though guys.
