Clicking Around Timing Belt

I have a clicking sound that is coming around the timing belt area but I am pretty sure it is not the timing belt, maybe it is something in or around the block. It make a click only when the car is not fully warmed up and my boost gauge reads around 0 to 10 vac. I have to give the car some gas to get my vac to the 0 to 10 vac to make the sound. Once the car is warmed fully it will no longer make the sound but if I am to shut the car off for 5mins then start it again it will make the sound for a small amount of time.

maybe piston slap? if so can anyone tell me more about it? can I drive the car, is it going to blow up?

It could be a ton of things. You going to have to let the car run and look/listen/feel around for something thats not right. Could be yoour lifters. Some times they stop ticking when the car warms up.

HI,

I think I had the same 'click click click....' sound as i start the engine. Preseumbly I was told that the noise was coming from the valves. And that it is normal that the noise is there in the begining and goes off after a while. However in my case the clicking sound persisted even after the engine was warm. And I found out later that that was because there was a low level of oil. I think DSM consume alot of oil and fast. (i am going to confirm this with mitsu on Tuesday)

Let us know if it is oil... ??

No it doesn't, it makes YOU look pathetic. People should be reporting posts that are against the rules. He reports alot of posts I appreciate that. It helps me get of crap that breaks the rules.
