I was driving out of my culdesac, get to the main road and push in the clutch to stop. I hear and feel (through my foot) a CLICK or CRACK and the clutch all the sudden engages noticeably closer to the floor. It still engages, but it's definitely different. It was already kind of close to the floor before, but now, it's so close that it might not be fully disengaged with the pedal floored. It works still for starts and shifts, but it shudders a bit if I just put in the clutch and let it out while in the same gear...makes me think it's not fully disengaging now...or that something is wrong-enough to not drive it. I just drove about 200 yards (turning around to put it back in the driveway).
Anyway, I know basics about the clutch and have previously looked into adjusting the pedal height, but I really don't know where to start looking. I have an ACT 2600 with about 30k miles on it. I had a shop install it (was before I started wrenching on my DSM).
So I don't know if it's a linkage problem, a hydraulics issue, a fork issue, or what. Any suggestions on how to zero in on what happened and what's wrong?
Thanks in advance!
