alright my fellow dsm tuners :ohdamn: i have a question, how do you remove the headlight housings or at least the lense on a 98 gst spyder, i tried removing the screws (at least all the ones i could see) and it still wouldn't come off:confused: so r u supposed to go behing the actual bumper, thats what i've heard but its not good to listen to everything you've heard right:hmm:, i really appreciate any feedback thanx:hellyeah:

If you have a long enough extension, you can reach in from the lower air intake in the bumper to get to the bottom bolt. The problem then is getting the light out passed that tab the bolt goes into. Without removing the bumper the likelyhood of either breaking that tab off or scratching your bumper is high. Its not impossible but difficult.

If you have a yellow buildup on the headlights some wet sanding will take care of that.

Try mothers mag and aluminum polish. The paste not liquid. I think with a high speed buffer results will ShamWOW you! :thumb:

If your not convinced PM Calan I just did his 1gs. We had to use 600 becaues there were a few scratches, we got them at the local PAP but they turned out AMAZING. Even if you dont have a buffer use a red rag and put some elbow grease into it. I swear by the stuff!

Is it hard to take the bumper off or is it just bolts and screws, and doesn it mess the bumper up at all? does anyone know step by step directions, im one of those people who wants step by step or ill be paranoid about messing something up

by the wayrush2252 those rims came out lookin sexy whatd u use to have them come out like that, did u use the gst wheels or the gs wheels

its not hard, just kind of time consuming. theres bolts all over.
in the wheel wells, underneath, everywhere. haha i would think i was done and wala there would be another couple waiting for me.

LOL yea time consuming projects suk but when your done and ## pretty little dsm shines it's worth it to have a cleaner car, im doing everything i can to have a clean dsm cause everyone in my city likes honda, don't get me wrong i'm not knocking honda but when i go to car meets theres alot of ek's and eg's and crx's but maybe 2-3 dsm's including me, but it makes me smile knowing the dsm's look way cleaner

haha yeah, i love getting my baby nice and clean:D

and yeah i know what you mean, there are ricer hondas all over the place here.
I hate it. I'm so happy i came across my dsm:) or i prob woulda ended up with an integra:/

:thumb: Good call on the way cleaner look.

As for headlights, taking off the bumper is going to make it so much easier on you and maybe even the front 2 tires, unless you have a short socket set for the splash gaurds. At least on mine it was a pain in the a$$ :notgood:

I can remove mine with the bumper on? Or is there supposed to be more than three bolts holding them on

If your just wanting to clean them use mothers like i said. Leave em on the car! The wheels are the GST wheels I believe? I just painted them with gold engine paint and cleared them LOL

I think they are the 2gb GS/GST wheels. I wish I had a set of the GSX wheels. I have never see a stock set on any AWD here in OKLAHOMA. I saw some on here and thought they were 3g wheels :ohdamn:

thats awesome, i was thinkin about using the gs wheels to see how it would come out, i didnt know how it would come out but now i know it looks clean, the reason why i gotta take the headlights out is cause somehow the bulbs blew up while i was driving so its all cloudy.

damn. That sucks. Sounds like moisture hit them when they were hot. You should be able to get them out with the bumper on. Its a tite squeeze but ive had mine out a few times in the past month with no issues

yea but i was thinking about trying to remove the parts in front of the inside housing and then vacuuming the glass out but just not sure how to clean them without pulling the bumper off and the headlights off,

how do i get the photo i uploaded on my profile to show when i post threads cause i uploaded one but it doesn't show, not that it's a big thing but it's bugging me

:hellyeah: nevermind i read the tech forum and sumone explained it, its the avatar not the profile photo, so is anyone selling the gs wheels i cannot find any on ebay and craigslist either, (don't think im bitting your idea:nono: rush22 but i wana do a mix of colors to match the panda-ness i got goin on wit the car

i like how almost ever one of us has the left side of our dsms on the avatar

Whatever you do, make sure not to get over excited and use up all your cleaning compound on one headlight, I had this whole sanding kit and I wanted the light to be clear as day, but I ran out and have a DSM with pink eye.
