I bought a used 1g bov. Is there anything I can use on it to clean it out inside? Just to get any crap out that might be in there? Carb cleaner? Brake cleaner? Anything?

Brake cleaner's fairly harsh for the diaphragm. A BOV shouldn't need cleaning- nothing but filtered air gets to it. The small amount of oil vapor fed to the turbo by the camcase vent (if you're running without a filter on it) is condensed out by the intercooler, so the air's pretty clean. I'd only hit it with some low-pressure air, if anything.

Meguiars Extra is a all surface cleaner that works awesome on brake dust on wheels and also it easily takes the carbon off my exhaust. Try that i think it won't be as harsh as some of the other stuff listed to use.

Don't use anything that will dry out the seal or you'll be kicking yourself for trying something that's really not necessary.
