is there anyway to clean an egr valve? evernow and then my care reads an insufficent flow but then the light goes away...or could I just get a SAFC and adjust the air fuel and make it go away?

Try spraying some carb cleaner on it (after removing it of course). I emptied a whole can of the stuff into an old cup and let the valve soak. If you do that, you should cover the cup with plastic wrap, as the carb cleaner evaporates pretty quickly. You should also plug the vacuum port so no cleaner gets in there.

did you do this cleaning? i too threw a p0400 code and i'm wondering if it's my EGR valve or the solenoid or what, i'm considering blocking it off and calling it a day :thumb:

It could be either the valve or the solenoid; I would suggest cleaning the valve and passage first. If that doesn't work, replace the solenoid.

Blocking off the EGR system won't eliminate your CEL by the way.
