chrome paint?

I was wondering what the cost would be around to get a chrome paint job. Nonbashing feedback would be nice.

never heard of a chrome paint job before but i have wondered what a polished all aluminum car would look like, i think that would be something to see, but sorry cant help you on the chrome paint job, dont know why you would want one but ill keep the flaming to a minimum

the new mercedes' AMG has the chrome paint job. it looks absolutely SIIIIIIIICK in my opinion. although I would never paint anything but a show car that scheme.

i believe the paint alone costs an upward of 10k

I don't see how it could be illegal. If chrome is illegal, a crap ton of clear would be too. It's all gonna produce glare, which would be my guess as to why it would be illegal. It looks pretty cool imo.

I don't think getting your car chromed is illegal, driving it on the street probably is. It would cause too much reflection.

I can see potential trends. E-thugs would be driving chrome SUVS with decals that say BLING BLING, and everyone with that paint would drive with the infamous gangsta lean.
That paint would be hella $$$ tho. You would have to pay for the paint, which probably costs a good bit, then the job would have to be flawless to look smooth. NO ORANGE PEEL. And that costs. The bad outweighs the good. Maybe it'll be like DVD players and everything else that once was new.

there is a M5 powered E46 M3 from Hamann racing in Germany that has a "liquid silver metallic" finish, it litteraly looks like dripping aluminium.

but it was like 20k to do.

Man that chrome paint is amazing. If I had the money and would ever make a show car I would get the car painted chrome. I bet the paint would really help out with winning. But still...wow....amazing looking!

i think itd look pretty nice. but u cant paint it chrome, it'll chip off after a rain. it's goin to have bo anodized then chrome plated. itll cost a LOT, its goin to weigh a shitload too. plus u'll never stop polishing, but it will look sick

oh,they didnt paint it,thez used a spec ial washing technique..after removing trhe paint,thez prepped the aluminium body panels and then applied the paint with a special hose(no paint gun!)

this "paint" only works on metals and is patented

its a realplayer vid..so u need that to watch it..the paint part is at the end of the vid..yes..it is in german..but itsa interesting to see how the door changes colour due to the chemical reaction,then it gets that mirror look.. watch the vid guys
