Check out the hatch!!

Wow, I actually like it. Since these cars have the black top it looks surprisingly good with a black hood and hatch. How much lighter is it than the stock hatch?

Thanks guys! But yea the hatch is about half of the weight of the oem one about i didnt actually get to weight it like i wanted to but definetly way lighter, and when we were putting it on we did some additional weight dropping so :hellyeah:. Im still debating on taking the spare out because its a good amount of weight but if i get a flat that cant be fixed with fix-a-flat then im stuck.

But i got a great deal on the hatch imo $500 for a seibon with glass that was professional installed so im pretty happy for now. We still have to get it mounted better because right now its only on with two bolts  so hopefully it'll work for the time being

Personally, i find more use from a carbon fiber hatch on a FWD car than i do a carbon fiber hood. That's just me though. You want some weight on your front end to weigh your car down to keep grip and traction. Don't you?

but to those with awd, it's all good. rock on

sounds good in theory... but it "looks totally awesome!" so to hell with traction :) who really needs it anyway :p

but carbon fiber looks really good on some cars... some of it eh, not so much. happens to look good on white cars -nods-

me personally, i don't like the look of carbon fiber at all unless on a black car. that's apparently just me though. i will not argue it's usefulness at all. just it's looks... i hate that little digital looking dots all over pattern. if i had carbon fiber anything i would paint it. Again, this is just me.

You've got a nice death star theme going with your cars.

Not a huge fan of silver, but it looks very clean. I'll keep a look out for ya next time I pass through

Would love to buy a CF hood for my 1g but I don't feel like goin 30 mph with my face pressed to the windsheild in the country for fear of hitting a deer

Thanks guys! Yea i really want the aerocatch pins and i was going to get some when i got the hatch but the guy who had them said he had nothing but problems with them so im going to look into it some more.

As far as future plans i have some more engine work and suspension work to do but exterior wise i need a new front bumper windshield driver side weather stripping and new window tint. After i got my major performance mods done then i want like a minor/clean bodykit or maybe widebody.

If you want to make the exterior look better, I vote that you go with the 2gb Talon front bumper and 2ga Talon side skirts. I know the topic's been beaten to death on here, but I am one of the many who do not like any body kits on these cars.

That's what the engine and transmission are for. ;)

Looks very good. That's actually almost exactly what I'm doing with my car when I get the money. Silver with carbon hood, hatch, and doing a carbon overlay for the roof and a-pillars as well.

the first night we drove it home, the guy had the headlights pointed like ten feet in front of the car and you couldnt see a thing...my dad was driving it on a backroad and we were about ten miles from home when i tell him , hope we dont hit a deer as soon as the word deer leaves my mouth, a decent 8 pointer leaped outta the ditch and he braked just in time:thumb: needless to say the last ten miles were nice and slow LOL i hate the fact that not only do i have to watch the road, i have to watch the ditch too

I would take a pair of fat 245 Drag Radials on the front end over a bi*** ass heavy hood any day.... On a FWD anyways.

I wonder if anyone makes a lightweight hatch for 1gs? My damn hatch is heavy as hell and the shocks are worn out. It sucks opening that thing.

It fits good we still have to adjust it a bit but for the most part its good but one of my friends friend hit a deer in his evo doing like 80+ ish..deer exploded! And he had took the front bumper support out to fit his fmic so his engine was toast, pretty sure the frame got bent and under his car looked like a meat grinder haha! It just makes me think of that mythbuster episode haha hopefully i never hit a deer because im 80% dead if i do :(

I have seen cf hatches for 1gs, i was going to get one when i had mine

I agree. A cf stock style high rise would look amazing. Or go with like what Gofer did and paint the top of the spoiler and leave the underside cf.

Looks sick man. Would've liked to have seen the hood pins farther apart but still looks great. Awesome job. Two thumbs up

I also think a carbon high rise spoiler would look amazing on there. But it does look pretty sweet without too.LOL

looks awesome and +1 on the cf high rise
