Sorry but just cutting your shifter will not reduce the throw. Anyone that replaced their actual shifter with a short throw shifter will know this. A short shifter is not just shorter though.

yeah i know this i was staying quiet, there are more to just short shifter, different bends length and a hole bunch more shit

Exactly, chopping your shifter does not make the actual throw shorter...
 
a short throw shifter makes the length from gear to gear shorter, not the height of the shifter. Nonetheless, i dont like short throw shifters, but think my shifter is too long so i might cut and reweld mine one day too.
 
wat im talking about is you shift "faster" than normal, think about it if the top part was 2 feet long it would take longer to "throw" from gear to gear, i know the real ones have bends...
