some where in Jersey.., New Jersey
Hey guys/girls

Okay i recently purchase the gsx from an mechanic from NJ. The car has New 6bolt motor, turbo, exhaust, intake... etc. So i went to pick up the car on tuesday, since tuesday i just been driving around the high way to put miles on the car to break in the engine. So today i was driving around the high way going about 70-75 all of sudden i see the check engine light came on, so i stop at a place i usually hang out at so i could cool down the car and see what is wrong with it. While i was checking out the car i found out that coolant botter was open for some odd reason so i close the coolant bottle back and drove it home easy.

Would this cause the check engine light to come on?

Thank you in advance.

Joe

Coolant bottle wouldn't be a reason for a light coming on. You would get a low coolant light it if was low or boiled over. I would either take it back to the mechanic or take it to an Autozone or something like that to see if they can do a scan to see what the code is. The car is OBD2 so it will be pretty simple. They will be able to tell you what it was for.

Thank you for the fast respone. I would take it to my mechanic but he got in to little accident so he wont be able to help me out. I'll just take it to a local mechanic my dad bring his car to check what the code is. I just hope i didnt mess up anything.
