So I just wanted to know if there is a cheaper way to go about lowering our car's while still maintaining a better then stock ride and handling? I've seen all these write ups on koni yellows but they run more then coil-overs. Also are the blue Tockia gas shocks a bad idea, I'm about to be running 235/40/18 35 offset asa ar1 rims on my car, and I want cheap alternative to coilovers but while maintaining good performance on the corners and while daily driving , oh and how are Tein Basics? BTW Im looking for a flush look with those rims I think I need to also roll the rear fenders?

I can't speak for the blue HP shocks, but I have the Illumina kit and on the lowest setting it rides and handles better than stock

I've been trying to find a pair of those for cheap I've seen very good write-ups and reviews on illumina shocks, are you running eibach sport lines? and do u have a pic of your car,?

I just read someones post stating that blues aren't very much better then stock, thay also said all kinds of thing's where going out bushing's and such. I found some tein basics for 400 shipped but Idk Im looking for a bigger drop then 1.5 may not need it though with the 18's with 235 and 35 offset Idk yet untill I get my car back. Im pretty much convinced that the illuminas are better then the blues, as for everything else Idk

Nope tokico springs too, I've got the awd kit tho so the rear is a tiny bit higher than front

Here's my car with Tokico HP springs and Blue shocks, 18x8 +40 rims, and 235/40 tires.

How wide are your rims? My tires barely rubbed on the pinch weld and cleared the knuckle by about a finger width.

The Tokico shocks and springs definitely handle better than stock. They might not last long with lowering springs, but neither will the Illumina's. The Koni Yellow is the only shock (to my knowledge) that is designed to work with shorter springs.

I'm not sure what you read about bushings, but I can promise it was a result of old bushings and not shocks and springs. The bolt usually seizes to the sleeve and eventually tears the bushings. That's why I'd suggest replacing all of the bushings with polyurethane inserts. It's easily one of the biggest PITA jobs to do, but well worth the end result.

The blues are the same as the whites on #3... New tokico n used eibachs would be the cheapest...I ran the basic tein's on my old car and they worked fine better than stock.

is that what your running btw I just found out the tein has a somewhat slightly bent rod but he says it seems usable

I am running that setup but some people think the rear sits a little to high. I'll try to get so pics when it stops raining. Personally I would pass on the tein if he says it "seems" usealble. Why take the chance if he doesn't even know

By time your done buying springs, shocks, camber kit, and alinement, it's almost cheaper to get the megan coilovers for $800. But you can just get some cheap lowering springs for like $100 not to low to mess with camber to much, and some cheap shocks.

Like I already said I got my for $525 brand new shipped plus $60 for an alinement. I personally wouldn't run Megan coilovers cause for $100ish more you could have gc and yellows.

huh...? ok..? that's more then I spent for my setup I got megan springs, full gr2's and camber kit with alignment at les swab for $499. Unless he needs a track car lowering springs and good shocks or basic coilovers are good enough for any street car imo. What do you expect to ride like a cloud when lower then stock LOL, ask any honda. :p No but I actually really prefer the stock height on my 1g tho it feels so smooth but ya it's ugly to look at.

I went with Ebay STAGG 4 SHS Shocks & the Eibach Pro-Kit springs, the ride is really good, and the shocks are comparable to blue's, all four shocks were $128 shipped:hellyeah: And they have a lifetime warranty!:thumb:

huh...? Since when is 499 close to 800? You can get a good ride quality if you don't slam your car. You just have to get the right spring rate and a decent shock. Why would I ask a Honda? They know nothing about our cars. All I was saying is that for 100 more you could get the best setup that's under 2000.

Just a little update I made my decision I found a pair of blues with eibach ground control springs, hope that this does the trick until I get more money

Oh and I see that that I need to camber the car any suggestions
