Any recommendations for a DSM shop near Charlotte, NC? I have a fully stock 1991 Plymouth Laser Turbo Manual Trans FWD I inherited and am ready to rebuild.

There are a handful of specialists i would ship to. TMZ performance in Wisconsin or Team Rip Engineeering in Michigan. DSMs are now mostly a specialist game.

Thanks. I really thought there would be more specialists around. I was always a GM guy and had a lot of vehicles, still do. Then went to Audi but looking forward to building this one a bit and just saving it. Nothing on the East coast? These cars were huge back in the day out here. Surprised.

TRE, TMZ as mentioned or Jack's Transmissions in Colorado if you want upgrades and specialist knowledge for higher horsepower.

If you are just looking for someone to swap the parts with a rebuild kit, you can probably go to any reputable transmission shop in Charlotte. You could let them source the parts or buy one of the rebuild kits from Jacks. Others may also supply these kits.

DSM AWD Rebuild Kits

These are AWD 1 and 2G rebuild kits. Please note: AWD 90-92 kits are ‘KIT A’ AWD 93-99 kits are ‘KIT B’ If you have your trans apart, look at the 3-4 shift fork. How many guide holes does it have? If 2 you have a trans that needs KIT A. If 3 you have a

Car is running and driving. Just looking for a shop that knows these cars to go through it. It has been sitting for about 20 years. Can't wait to get i to it.

Im not saying there aren't any shops in the Carolinas, but I am saying dsms are not everywhere like they once were. The vendors list on this site probably covers all the majors. There are regional groups on the site too
