I want to change the bulbs in the dash gauges, dashboard knobs and display lights to a blue or red. How in the hell do I do this with out messing something up? Would I need some special tools?

I know on a 1g its pretty easy with regular hand tools.....they use regular plugin lights you can get at the local autoparts store.

^ Don't do it half assed... get the right light bulb....^ Althought i've never done it, i heard on a 1g we can scratch the orange coloring off the plastic. Is that true?

for the a/c controls: drop your glove box, and unscrew it and take it out. You need to disconnect your cool air bypass valve... You should see a black cable line running down from your center vents toward a white plastic peice where the cable is running to. If you cant tell what im saying here, drop the glovebox and move the cool air bypass valve while looking by where the glove box is to see what is moving( cool air bypass valve switch is the dial to the right of your center vents) Once you have disconnected that cable, you can take the center vents out by just pulling on them or using something to pry them gently.

Once the vent is out, you should be able to see 2 red wires leading to a small little peice by your heater controls... Follow the wires up to the bulb, which needs to be turned 1/4 clockwise (which will take a while to do) and the bulb will just come out...Now cut the old bulb out and then solder in your new LEDs to the two red wired ( you kind of have to guess which is postive and which is negative) then tape or glue the led into the place of the old bulb. Hope this helped:thumb: , if you need anything else just ask, I just did this a month ago.:talon: :laser: :dsm:
