I'm thinking its the VSS, becuase I can't rev above 4500rpm(shutterbox). So the ECM isn't seeing that the car is moving. I also have a P0135( #1 O2 sensor heater bad) and the car is slightly over heating after a 2.5 HR drive the over flow was dumpping a small amount of coolant on the ground, but wasn't boiling. I'm going to swap ECU's out so I can at lest rev above 4500. Anyone see this problem before or have any other ideas.

BTW I pulled the a/c out and cruise control out while I was doing the clutch.

If its the vehicle speed sensor, your speedometer wouldnt move. At least thats what I think.

It's probably the speed sensor on the back of the trans by the rear motor mount that you forgot to plug back in.

It's plugged in I cked it like 4 or 5 times. I swapped ECU's and it still doesn't work. Do you know if it has a gear or does it go off of PMG voltage only?

Either a) the sensor is bad, or b) the gear on the sensor stripped, or c) even worse, the gear inside the transmission stripped.

No clue. I have done a few trannies and i have had luck just putting them back in :) so i have no idea how to troubleshoot them. I'm sure someone on here can help guide you.

I hope the tranny doesn't have to come back down, I know it was working fine before hand and the tranny wasn't droped or any thing like that. The VSS did seem to have some play in it, but I never messed with it before.

There are two plugs on 2Gs which are the same. Make sure you have the right plug in the speedometer. Also, you might be overheating because your CTS isn't hooked up well. Your rad fans might not be turning on.

I'll have to look for anothe plug in the morning for the VSS. The CTS is that the singal wire plug or the one on the back of the housing? The temp gauge works fine.
Thanks man

I believe the CTS and the gauge sensor are different. The gauge sensor is a one prong sensor and the CTS is a two prong.
