For all you guys with carbon fiber hatches, i got some questions..

Does your rear defrosted still work? Has anyone put the windshield wiper back on? And does anyone make a CF hatch that has the duck bill lip like for the evos?

Thanks:thumb:

If you use the stock glass, the defrost will work. I do not know of anyone that put the wiper back on. I also do not know of a hatch that has the lip like the EVO's.

I've had my cf hatch since 2005 when they first came out and never hooked up the defroster since it has to be grounded to metal. And I did not want to drill a hole into it so I did not put the wiper back on. My car weighs 2642 lbs so I wasn't really wanting the wiper and some other things as in my eyes they just added weight. This year I will be selling my cf hatch and going with a new one and a lexan rear window along with the rear small windows.

Well i want one of the two because right now its my only car and they definetly come in handy, and how much are you going to be selling the hatches for?

Also does any one have pics of there painted cf hood or hatch? Can you see the cf under the paint?

If you painted it a candy or transluscent paint, sure you could see some under the paint. If you plan on going base/clear you wont be able to. Base/Clear will cover it just like your OEM Hatch.

You have axle weights by chance? I was thinking of getting one, but I'm worried if it's really worth it taking too much weight off the rear

That would contradict the reason for the carbon hatch then if you go and put more weight in the rear.

I don't think that 35-50lbs will make much of a difference on how the rear of the car will handle unless you are doing autox or road racing which you would then want to relocate the battery.

Exactly right, I got a yellowtop in the hatch and some roll cage weight/bracing back there for my 98 RR car. Was more curious to see what the distribution on someone else's stripped down 2g looked like
