CEL for barometric pressure sensor using VPC

For some reason my CEL randomly goes on and off. Its always for the Barometric Pressure Sensor. I'm running a VPC and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the VPC that is causing the CEL to randomly come on or if something else would be a problem. Can anyone help or have any idea?

Also, would it be a bad idea if I had the baro sensor set to a certain constant all the time? Then I would not be worried about it randomly coming on if its always set to a certain value.

It wouldn't be a bad idea at all. As a side note, the MAF translator locks the IAT and BARO readings just to avoid that problem. If they can do it, I don't see why you can't.
 
would the baro cel comign on and off cause the car to run differently?

I'm trying to figure out what happened to my car.
Last weekend we put the dsmchip in, set VPC settings to 0, then went out and tuned. Tunred the response up till it fellt like it was the best and there was no stumbling or spudering to get going, its set around 2 or 3 oclock position. Turned the gasin knob back 1 click, 2 clicks car knocked so we leaned it out 1 click. No knock and timing was around 20 degrees.

Yesterday at the track, car just had no power and oculdnt figure out why.... timing was down to 9-12 degrees at WOT, NOTHING was changed on the car, only went from Cleveland to Cincinnati. There was NO knock mind you except for the occasional 1 count which I think it possibly from running too rich.,

Last weekend we logged a .82 for the O2 volts and was told (that that is fine and probably the best spot for the car) then yesterday I was logging .88 - .92 volts. SO not sure what or why timing thought it would be fun to lower itself unless the baro sensor had/ has something to do with it. Any ideas?
 
what injectors are you running?Did you get dsmchips to lock out the barometric code?

I had the same exact setup as you for awhile.big16g,550cc,starion front mount,vpc.1g rods 2g pistons

i would always have the gain leaned out a notch,response 2 or 3 o clock...the only thing i can think of it .....a: check your timing b: check for intercooler leaks.

I would get a afc or something....it helps alot to clean up the signal from the vpc,which is a very "unorganized signal"

I went low low 12s on 23psi with that setup,if i put a built trans and drove it alittle harder it definatly would be consistant 11s...let me know how it works out
 
The VPC locks the baro value. Try to find out the pinout of your stock ecu, look for the baro wire and follow it to the vpc's harness. I THINK you should find a resistor which is guilty of lockin your baro value. Probably the resistor is off scale, or that wire is loose. Have you checked on the logger what value you have for baro pressure?
