CEL Code P505 Idle Control Valve

so I had a leaky water pump and cel came up, checked it came out to be idle control valve. Does water pump have to deal with idle?
I replaced water pump, cel still on, reset, drove for about 100 miles, cel didnt come on.
Anyone know what this cel means? or what caused it to come on?

the water pump has nothing to do with your idle air controller, so no worries there.
The idle air controller is attached to your throttle body. It allows a pre determined ammount of air into the intake while the engine is warming up. Over time burnt oil vapor and carbon can jam the IAC. Pulling it off and cleaning it up with some WD-40 and elbow grease should fix the problem. Some IAC's require you to reset them by depressing the plunger until it locks into position, but I am not sure on the DSM's if thats the case. Your best bet would be to find a FAQ. Either way, if you reset the ECU and the code didnt return then you are probably good. But keep this in mind if and when it comes back.

ok will do, ill clean the sensor, but cel doesnt seem to come on anymore.
