So on my way to work today I was on the highway cruising in 5th around 75mph when the car stumbled (slowed down and then sped up quickly) for about a second and the cel came on for 2 or 3 seconds then went off. It's the first time it's happened and it didnt happened for the rest of the ride to work which was about 30mins. Any ideas before I get it scanned? Will a scanner even be able to read it even tho there's no cel? I'm thinking maybe misfire of some sort. I did just change the plugs last week but its been running normal since then

Did both happen at the same time or was it stumble then CEL?

It stumbled first I believe. I just got the code scanned even tho there was no cel on and it came up with p1500 which is a circuiting issue with the alt. the cel hasn't come back on so should I worry just yet? Drives fine. Only weird thing that I've noticed is when it's dark and I have my dash lights on, when I boost to maybe around 5500 rpm I notice some redish light on the dash on the left side of the mph cluster starters to illuminate but once I let go of the gas it goes away quickly. Kinda weird. Happens to fast for me to see what it is.

I have been having this problem since i got my car in december. no code tho, cel comes on for a sec after my car practically dies and then its like nothing ever happened. yesterday i found some wires that were going from my fuse box to my battery were rubbing on the metal bracket for my fuse box. check that kinda stuff!

A problem with the voltage is the first thing that came to mind. A bad connection to the battery or a failing alternator or some wiring short could cause the voltage to drop and reset the ECU.

2G aren't a likely to have capacitor failures causing the ECU to reset, it's typically external to them.

Yeah I have no idea. On my way back from work today I heard a rattling sound and sure enough it's my alternator rattling. I guess the screw that mounts the alternator in place came loose. I'll check all of the connections tho. The light hasn't come on since
