My Recently gave out on me, so i was poking around on ebay and i was considering getting a testpipe. I heard Test pipes make a difference in performance but sound "Rice" is this true? Should i even bother or should i just run another cat

My cat gave out on me* sorry

You will gain a small amount of power from a test pipe but it is less back pressure. It will not sound like rice either. I have one on my exhaust and it's a very deep tone def. loud but not raspy. I lived in N.Y my entire life up until I joined the service so your biggest concern is emissions test on the computer. As long as you can beat that I would say just get a test pipe.

Cats are for panzys LOL.Small power gain but for a tiny cheap peice of metal it is to replace the ristriction of a cat is worth it.

I would put another cat in, but I'm not a big fan of the raw exhaust gas smell.

A test pipe will probably give you a small power gain. Whether it will sound crappy is up to the rest of your exhaust.

High flow cats are good, never really had bad gas smell just make sure your motor is tuned up and burning fuel right.

I used to have a test pipe and it worked great, now it's just sitting around because my DP eliminates the cat. But I liked the tone difference it's deep. I noticed a difference in top end.

One risk of a test pipe is that you might get a very annoying drone. The cat acts kind of like a muffler, and without it, it might bother you. I have a 2800rpm drone that bugs the hell out of me. I'll probably put a second muffler in where the cat was, though. Much cheaper than a cat.
