castle plug?

Im doing balance shaft elimination and i got a couple questions about the castle plug.
1.Where do i go to get it?
2.What size is it?
3.How much is it?
4.Is it absolutely neccesary?
5.Is there any other name for it? ( cause i went to advance auto parts and they looked at me like im crazy.....

If it's what I'm thinking of it's a plug whose shape is like a sprocket. It's a very weird piece I haven't seen the likes of anywhere else on the engine before. Like the above poster said, talk to Paul at JNZTuning.com and he'll get you sorted out quickly. I think you need a corresponding o-ring for it as well, but don't quote me on that.

yeah, i do need an o ring. But is there another way to get rid of the oil leak without using the castle pug? Maybe some other freeze plug or something?

just run the run the castle plug that mitsu intended for the oil pump, no sense running an alternitive if the castle plug is a proven design with no leaks..

Call up JNZtuning, ask to speak with Paul and order the parts you need. I just dealt with him today and it was a really good experience, definitely going back to them considering they are so close by and customer service is awesome.

The plug is threaded, but the... I don't know the terminology here... top of the plug is flattened out and looks like a gear with broad teeth. Like I said before, it's very weird No idea why it's shaped like this.

pulled from STM's website..it does require an oring to seal properly
