Well, I found out yesterday that my carrier bearings are pretty much shot, I think. I looked under the car and they are definitely worn. My question is, how far can they be worn out and brought back to life by filling them with silicone? I have read about the silicone fix, but I just dont know if it would be enough.

When you look under my car, the driveshaft is obviously not centered in the bearings. It is hanging down towards the bottom of the carriers. Are these fixable? At least could I get by with them till the end of the summer. I just dont want to pay $175 for new ones right now.
