Hard to tell that the sides are for looks but i'll take your word for it. What front bumper and side skirts are on that car? I really don't need the sides to be functional just the main one is fine.

BC2 skirts, OEM frint bumper with a lip. And it is clear in gofer's photo that the side vents are not functional.

On the warranty they guarantee it to fit and look perfect or they cover shipping both ways to correct. As for fading or turning yellow they only offer a 30 day warranty. They tried to say they have never heard of one turning yellow and that if one did it must have been a fake. Imagine that.

Gofer: Thank you for posting the picture, That's actually one of my gsx's.

Here are a few more pictures for you. ALL vents ARE functional on mine, So I'm not sure why some have this hood and did not get functional vents? The weird thing about these types of hoods with vents ETC is that the entire hood ''buldges'' , Rather then sitting low/flat like a stock or oem c/f hood. The fitment is GREAT, However.

With all the functional vents, Engine bay temps are much lower, And it's much cooler when opening the hood (You don't get that blast of heat like you would a non-vented hood). One of the problems (If thats what you would call it), Is rain/snow. If you plan to dd the car with the hood, Remember that you are going to have alot of up-keep, With keeping your engine bay clean after rain/snow ETC.

Here are some pictures I just took, I hope these help you in your decision.

Awesome news, I'm gonna pull the trigger on the hood. I need more clearance to the valve cover and extra cooling.

The vents on my hood are all functional as well. Ive also got a cover that bolts to the bottem of the hood to keep the water and snow and elements out when needed! Also the fitment is AMAZING! Heres a couple pics for you guys!

Did that cover come with it, or did you have to purchase/have one made? I've been very interested in this hood, but I've been leery of it due to the lack of rain/snow shield since we get a ton of snow here in the midwest.

I bought the hood from a fellow DSMer near where I live, and when I picked up the hood he gave that one to me with it.. So, Im not positive if it comes with the hood when you buy it or not. Sorry I cant help more with that kind of info man ..

Has anyone tried installing the Aerocatch hood pins onto this hood? I remember reading a post awhile back, on how it's difficult to get them to fit with this hood, because of the bulge in the front. Can anyone else confirm it? I personally love the look/functionality of Aerocatch's pins and I really don't want to use my stock hood latch or shiny hood pins, but if i absolutely have to, I'll bite the bullet and just do it.

I love this hood and the only 2 deterrents for me is the hood pin situation and the rain guard, which i now see people are actually getting them, so at least that's one thing off my list.:thumb:
