Somewhere in, Colorado
i have a '95 GS-T. i bought it not able to start. i replaced the starter, battery, & all cables assosiated with both. i finally did get it to fire up and drove it for a couple days with no problem. then the 3rd day, it dropped it's power and would not go over 40mph and over 3000rpm. i thought maybe i blew one of the clamps to my FMIC but nothing was loose. so i limped the car back to my garage and over the next few days, i replaced the ignition coil packs and spark plugs & wires and then it wouldn't start,... again.... i even went and had my new battery recharged due to trying to start it and still nothing. i have since replaced the fuel pump with a walbro pump, and i can now hear it operating but still no start. i pulled the fuel line off the fuel rail and it's pumping strong. the car has plenty of fuel, spark, and the timing marks all line up right. i checked the cam/crank sensor housing and it turned out to be one from a '92 galant and has 4 wires when mine should have 3. i'm at a dead end here and don't know what else to check/ replace. i do know that the engine wire harness is pretty jacked up from the previous owner trying to mod it and failed... epiclly. i really don't want to dish out the 7-800 $$ for a new one but have no more ideas. if someone could tell me where i could find the sensors for cheap would be awesome. any help would be greatly appreciated...

If you are positive you have fuel, compression and spark, start looking along the hacked engine harness. When it comes down to it, there is not that many things to check. Start by physically checking each connection and making sure they are good. Next, check all fuses with a multimeter to ensure they are all good. IMO your problem does not lie mechanically, but rather electronically/electrically.

Like you stated, i do believe my problem lies in the harness, the only issue, is that this harness is so jacked up, I really don't know what's what. The chilton manual is somewhat misleading as to what diagram to use. The tard who previously owned the car completely removed sections of the harness containing the actual connectors, and just spliced some wires together and left others capped off (and judging by the number of drinking straws and zip-ties he used, he didn't believe in using proper heat shrink and solder). It has other areas where the connector is there, but 1 or 2 wires of the bundle are in use while the others have been cut off at the connector. So in short, I don't know which wires actualy go to the car, what can be removed, what needs to be added, and what connects to each other.

There are dozens of DSMs being parted out and even more in the junk yard. Just spend some time finding one.

IMO, a fubared wiring harness is a headache not worth figuring out. Call me crazy, but I'd take it as an opportunity to do some cleaning up, rewiring and tucking, but that's just me :)
