I finished a 1g in a 2g swap engine runs just fine. if I shift into anything but park and neutral the car doesn't move but the engines rmp drops then goes up. I removed my tcu and it had anti-freeze in it( getting a new one)......is there aything else that I can check while I am waiting on the tcu that would cause this?

thanks

You mean if you're idling in P at 1000 rpms, and then you shift into D, the rpms dip down and then back to an idle say around 800 rpms...or does it drop off dramatically and then rise back to normal idle? When I shift from N or D to gear, the rpms always go down a little and then back to normal. As far as the car not moving, I'd say a new TCU is good to try, go from there.

well what happens let say at 1000rpm and shift from P to R or D the rpm decrease to about 800 rpm then back up to 1000rpm and the trans isnt locked up or anything.. I did find out the tcu codes 42,43,83,84 something about checking solenoid valve connector for A and B and check shift control solenoid for valve A and B. but I have no Idea on how to do that got any advise? heck ya know where I can find those?

thanks

Simple. You put a 6 bolt into your automatic 2G? There is a clearance issue. The crank pushes against the TC too hard and ends up destroying the tranny pump. That is why you are not going anywhere. 6 bolt conversion is not recommended on a 2G automatic unless you have an automatic tranny guy who is willing to custom make you a spacer along with a custom flexplate.

well seeing how I had the TC moddifed and the step that is in the crank bearing removed(per lowadvenger's instructions) I seroisly dought that that is the problem. the tcu is giving codes to check shift control soleniod valves.

Try a new TCU first. I'll look at my manual at home to let you know what those codes are.

thanks that would help. I drained the fluid in my xfer case and it was like molasass(sp) in the witer time and stunk. I think my clutches burnt up(the trans never work since I have had the car, got it with not motor and a bad trans  ) so not shock that I have to do a rebuild. waiting on john to see what he suggest. want to see if I can get a deal on a rebuild kit and a shift kit since I need one I might as well get the other.

thanks again
