Clemson and Simpsonville,
Hello guys, I have searched this topic extensively and I am unable to find a solution. I recently installed my aeromotive fpr. I finished installing it and when i went to crank the car it died immediately (it would climb to 900rpm, which is what i have idle set to, and then dies immediately). I figured it was due to incorrect fuel pressure adjustment. So using dsmlink, I turned my fuel pump on, I connected my intake reference to my fpr (hose connecting to fpr) and i adjusted the fpr to 43psi. I took another shot at it and it did the same thing, rpm shot up to 900 rpm then died out immediately. I can give it some gas to keep it alive, but once i let go, the rpms just drop and the car dies out. Here is some information that might help (i hope). When I have the fuel pump turned on alone (using dsmlink), I don't hear constant noise near the fpr. I hear the fuel flow thru it, but I also hear several interruptions, almost as if the flow is unsteady. From what I've heard from others, it is suppose to sound constant, but it sounds as if the flow keeps cutting off. But the flow doesn't cut off because the fpr gauge reads 43psi at all times (even during times of "interruptions"). Could this be my problem? I am not sure guys, please help me out for this is my daily driver which is now down. Thanks!

An adjustable fuel pressure regulator must be adjusted with the vacuum line disconnected. Try adjusting with the line disconnected.

I believe he is adjusting it with the car off and the fuel pump on so it wouldn't matter. Your fuel pump just might be going out. Seems strange but could just be a coinsidence.

I just did a fuel filter on my car on a stock fuel system and i had similair problems. Every time i put the clutch in and let the rpm's fall the thing would die. i think it was because there was air left in the fuel line after i finished putting everything back together. Car idled strangely for a few days but has gone back to normal and has been perfectly fine for two months. maybe just run it for a while, idle it for 20 min or take it for a drive and keep rpm up until air clears out of line. i don't know if how much that helps, just my $.02

I ended up rotating my biss screw 4 times to get it to idle where I want it. I know this is "bypassing" the problem but I had no clue where the problem was and no idea what could be causing this. Hopefully It goes well from here.
