so the car (99 gst) was having misfire issues. so i changed out the coil pack. went for test drive then it sputtered again, backfired, and just shut off. checked everything and it all seems fine. i tried to start it up but it would only crank but not turn over. i ordered a new engine control unit and put it on. now it won't even crank. any ideas. thanks.
,Thats not good. Hopefully you'll get a little lucky and not have a major problem. If I'm not mistaken the t-belt has to jump 5-8 teeth in most instances for the clearance to become too small and valves start smashing pistons. While you're in there fixing that you need to figure out what caused the belts to jump in the first place. That is a problem that must be fixed, next time it might just throw the t-belt.
