car will run just sitting

its a 1996 eagle talon esi and you can start the car and let it run for a good amount of time(we had it running for about 3 hrs) but when you start driving it it will die and you wont be able to get it running again.

i forgot to add 2 that the car doesnt throw any codes but that was when there were problems with the battery

You didnt really give any info...

Give us the basis... Compression numbers, when did you change the fuel filter last, fuel pump? When did you last perform a tune up, wires, etc... Does the car die only when its in gear... or can you rev it in neutral and it will still die...

If you want help, you have to provide the investigation. We cant do it for you.

it will only die when its in gear i can rev it up in neutral and it runs fine. like said before we think that its a problem either with the ecu or the wires that connect the ecu 2 everything else.

the transmission was replaced on it and it ran fine util that happend. When the transmission was replaced the tranny computer was taken out with the tranny and the rebuilt one was put in. i was just wondering if there could be any problem with the two computers not matching or something along the line of that. When i started it last the check engine light went on but then it turned off right away let me know what you think and feel free to give me information to help me diagnose this problem. this was a great car when it was running and now because of my accident i need one!!! if anyone knows how much an ecu with the wiring would run for let me know its a 1996 eagle talon esi automatic thanx
