I adjusted the tps last nite and i cut off the belt that ran the air conditioning. I drove the car about 50 miles and it ran great. Then this morning i went to start it because the idle went up down up down up down this is why i adjusted the tps and i wanted to see if it still did it... the car started right up i got out to walk inside and it died... i tried to start it it will not start at all. Also after i adjusted the tps the check engine lite would come on ONLY when idling right when i would push the gas in at all the check engine like would shut off... please reply asap this is my only car school tomorrow.....:(

use an ohmmeter and check the tps to see if the resistance is fine. here instruction on hwo to test it

turn the car off remove the tps get the ohm meter test the resistance on terminal 1 (sensor power suply) and terminal 4 (sensor ground terminal) normal resistance is 3500-6500 ohms

hmm ill check my manual i dont know on a 1g only a 2g hold on

EDIT: ok there's two place but i dont know if it the same location like on a 1g theres one under the steering column on the left it should say o nthe cover which fuse goes to what try to look for one that says ecu (engine control unit) and if you dont see one look under the hood on the left and look for a fuse box on there too and try to look for ecu also if it isnt o nthe one udner the steering column

i havent tried that but tell me if this makes sence
The car will start only sometimes after about 45 sec of straight turnin it over when it does start i have to keep the key to the start posistion and when i let the key back to the run posisition it dies instantly. We unhooked the ballas resistior and the car would start and stay runnin w/ the key turned over and when we would hoook the resistior back up it would instanly shut off. We have been lookin at junk yards but have not found a 91 2.0 turbo w/ one. and bumper to bumper said to call chrsyler dealer..? Think that the resistor it bad the one located across from the batter on the fire wall.

The resistor on the fire wall is the injector resistor pack. Don't run the car without it or you'll burn up the ECU.

Your TPS needs to be adjusted so that it reads 0.48v to 0.52v with the throttle clesed at idle. If you have a datalogger that is about 10%.

Pull your error codes from the ECU and see what it's complaining about.

/\ that really good idea wit hthe buzzer at vfaq and its inexpensive and does the same thing like one of those 350 dollars thing nice =)

I like using the piezo buzzer, it's really cheap (>$5) and easy to read the code.
In the car before I had a datalogger, I used to use a LED since a constant beeping out the heart beat would drive you nuts.

When I make EPROMs I rewrite the error code routine to flash the codes on the CEL if no logger is attached.

does the car have to be runnning, or just to the on posistion.. Cause the car doesnt run and b4 it broke the check engine lite would come on only at idling when i could touch the gas it would shut off

if you read the instructions from vfaq idont think you need too.
The VFAQ on the TPS is wrong. It's not correct for a 1G and not anywhere close to correct for a 2G.

On a 1G if you have a SAFC or datalogger you can set it with the ignition on but not running.
The hard part is reaching the lower bolt on the TPS to loosen it
