Hey guys. I have a 99 Eclipse GS 5 spd, and ever since i got it, i noticed that while I'm in neutral, if i blip the throttle, the car sputters a little before the rpms rise. I never really thought much of it, but now it bothers me. While I'm driving, even in low gear, if i come off the gas and then push it in suddenly (not even flooring, just pushing the accelerator in quickly), the same sputtering noise is there accompanied with a little shaking, and after the sputtering the car begins to gain speed and rise in rpms as normal. However, if i gradually push the gas in, the problem isnt there. What could it be?? I really am baffled. Thanks for the help

I have this same problem on my ESi. The car idles a LITTLE rough and when I give it some throttle it sputters a LOT. It eventually gets going and runs fine after 3000ish rpm.
