Hey guys, so i have a 92 eclipse with a 2.0 n/t motor.
I have had some recent problems and I managed to fix them..
My first problem was bent valves. I redid the head and put in new
valves along with headers and all the gaskets. After that the car wouldn't
start. I didn't have a spark on cylinders 2 and 3 so I replaced the ignition
module right by the coil pack and it ran fine. Car fixed. I decided it was time to
put some gas in and put in a good half tank of gas. I went home and
parked it and went to sleep. I woke up to go to work and my car
didn't start up...i was like WTF! So I replaced my PTU/Ignition module
and still didn't run...when I managed to start it up. It was loud as if
i was running on 2 cylinders again and also I hear a clanking noise.
The car now has no power, vibrates a lot, motor is loud and I hear a
clanking noise...I came here before for the PTU problem and it worked.
SO may someone please please help this guy out. I really need my car
running again. Thanks In advance.

it sounds like you might have jumped timing

which if you did you have alot of work to do full head rebuild since these ar interference motors and hopefully the pistons are ok but the head will need a rebuild

Well the head was already rebuilt. And timing was fine. I'm pretty sure if I turn it off after it was running 5* it shouldn't jump time out of the blue.

the shutoff wouldnt jump the timing the startup would but i missed the part where it would start at all my mistake and what did you have to do to get it to start?

Well after putting in the new ignition module/ptm it ran perfect. Now I start it up and it clanks and is loud, wont rev above 2/3k. Vibration. I turn it on like normal with me pressing on gas pedal LOL. It stalls shortly after trying to idle

Hey there welcome to tuners :thumb:

It's easy to double check mechanical timing. Get a socket or 1/2" drive extension fit to the crankshaft bolt by clocking the wheels to the left. There is a set of small notches on the crank pulley. Rotate the pulley -clockwise- until they line up to the 0* mark on the timing cover. At that point, pop off the upper timing cover and look at the camshaft gears. They also have marks that will line up, they look like line punch marks
