Geez,i wish i knew computer stuff like u chuck, lets see some finished product pics!

I don't know if chuck is going to install it in his car to check it out before he sends it to me or not. If he does then he will have installed pictures before I do. Either way I will post the finished product either way. The recaros came in today as well.:thumb:

Where'd ya get that case? I do computer networking and the hardest part would be finding the case and extended length wireing..

Few questions for ya..

Are you using a touch screen?
Is that a custom program? If it is, im sure they're be a huge market for it. :)
Where are you mounting it?

Pics of final install are eagerly awaited! :)

i got a 7" touchscreen that i will be molding into the center vents when it arrives in the mail.

the program is off mp3car.com
there are a few people who make the programs, the 2 main ones are media car and media engine. Im using media car.
I just posted these pics cause i finally got everything crammed in the case for the first time. look on pricewatch for the c134 and youll find the case the motherboard has a 1ghz c3 processor, 256 mb ram, 20gig slimline hdd, and opus power supply powering it. the opus regulates the power and turns the comp on with the car and off when the car goes off giving the computer time to shut down.ill try my best to get in car pics.

correct, there isnt room for expansion as in pc cards and all, but it has 6 channel 5.1 dolby digital sound and cle266 graphics. here is a desctiption of the board itsself

" The Nehemiah M10000 has an onboard "fansink" reducing heat and noise (a mere 25dBA at one metre). Onboard VIA Apollo CLE266 graphics and 1Ghz C3 Processor with Nehemiah core gives the EPIA M10000 improved 3D graphics and DVD playback, and the board has 6 Channel audio, 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0, Firewire and TV-Out support. Ideal for the perfect multimedia playback machine. "

total was around 700 i think, but thats not bad considering they use all laptop parts. When i build mine, it wont be in dash but it will have a full size harddrive, full size ram, an full size dvd rom so it will drive the cost down a little. Thats the cost without screen btw

I made a carpc as well, but mine was alot more ghetto then yours. I mounted a ITX case in the trunk, used a 150w DC PS, and a wireless mouse and an ebay tft lcd.

Since I had all the parts besides the screen, it really only cost me like $160, media engine worked great for me.

I had a bit of a problem with alternator whine, I never got around to messing w/a groundloop isolator, but let me know if you expereince this at all.

so that things like speed bumps, rocks, rough roads etc don't scratch the HD? There some type of foam casing or spring shock/support set up you're using?

Not bad at all man.

I used to be into case modding..

you can get alot of questions answered over at hardforums.com.

I plan on doing something like this in the future..
Can't wait to see pics on the final install, it should be awesome and might give me some ideas..

thats sweet! How you running the actual speakers in the car? What kind of output you getting through the rca"s? I'm interested in this, but I run a good bit of competions with my car and was wondering if it would handle the 150dbs? Also I need a 5v and higher output.

Thanks

You could always pick up a system from these guys, pretty reasonable prices as well.

you can buy voice recognition software online at alot of different places, just about anything you can buy for a regular comp can be used on this.
