Ok well heres the problem. After giving it significant boost, i can hear the bov sound real bad..it sounds like a huge boost leak..and i mean a major. That amount of air just slips out. After that, the car starts to shake, hesitate, wanting to die. My turbo has less than 1k miles on it..its an Evo III 16G. I have a turboxs type H34 BOV that has less than 2000 miles on it. I checked for boost leaks and didnt really find any, dont know if its because of the loud ass air compressor that i was using to pressurize the intake. Im going to run a boost leak again, this time with a bicycle pump..however anyone have any ideas exactly what could be wrong. I changed the spark plugs, battery, and it still does the same thing. If i dont boost it real high, the car drives like a dream, if i start to boost it significantly, it stars to act stupid. I checked all the intercooler pipes and from what i can see, they look normal.

Update: I took of the intercooler as well as all its piping and found a tear on the LICP coupler...the tear was deep enough where u can see the tear looking inside of the coupler going all the way out..i dont know if that is that big of a deal where my car would lose all its power after boosting..

Does anyone know which local stores (example: Walmart) sell couplers..i mean i know i can get them from Extreme PSI or another vendor but this is my DD right now and i cant have my car down for a couple days..

Just go to a parts store and buy a piece of radiator hose of the right diameter and length.

Well how do i find a hose that is the proper size on both ends...what i mean by that is that my intercooler itself requires a bigger hose to go over it than the lower intercooler piping..the intercooler requires i believe a 2.75" and the piping requires a 2.5" to go over it..

Just go to NAPA. They stock a lot of diesel parts so they can probably match something up for you.

Buy a 2.75" hose and just compress the hose down to fit on the piping with a hose clamp. It won't leak and it won't look like shit.

Basically what it does is:

Start car, drive normally with little boost low rpm's, car runs good. Give it significant throttle, the car boosts for a split second or 2 and then around 13-14 psi the car starts hesitating and i hear a huge abnormal like release of air. The car starts to act funny, idle strange, and even at the littlest boost it starts to sputter or hesistate, whatever u want to call it.

And then it just repeats ^ ^ ^ over and over. If i shut the car off after all that, start her back up a few seconds later, it repeats the above in that order.

I just ordered a 2.25" to 2.50" coupler. I was wrong about the 2.75, the inner diameter is actually 2.25" to 2.50". I just dont like the fact that i have to wait a couple days for a damn coupler..i mean i want to know if thats what is causing the issues with my car. I sold my daily driver thinking my car would do the job since it had been running decent, and this shit happens. :notgood:
