Ok its been doing this for a week now but car just randomly dies. But starts right back up then dropping the hood made it die out to every Time. But starts without a problem. Also rpms will drop and jump. Randomly kinda worried. Any ideas

is it only when you go to close the hood? whats you fuel pressure doing? may be a help may not....my car was acting stupid as hell the other week when i would start it, it would idle and die constantly. put a new fuel filter on and fixed it. when i took the old one off i banged it on a bench and a ton of shit came out of it. it actually was kind of like muddy or mushy like it was mixed with something. thank god my filter cought it. i ran the new one i put in for one tank and replaced it again just to get whatever might be left in the tank

It happens 3 times day at least now and when I drop the hood it kills it. Seems sluggis boosting to at random times. I will have to check fuel pressure.

Boost leak check, wires plugs, and i know this from experience.. And did you vent your bov to atmosphere. if so put the recerc. tube back on removing it without the proper tools to do so. your car will die when u let of the gas from any rpm above 3000. this i had to learn the hard way.

No I Recerc with greddy s . I just installed a fmic kit with hard pipe so that eliminates boost leaks. And car still dies but always has a normal idle never above 750 to 1000. decide to check into boost leak through pcv. Is this possible? I going to do a two oil catch can setup with check valve to see if this helps.

Are all unplugged vacuum lines capped ? You could have a vacuum leak somewhere , maybe the BISS screw , or even a dead IAC motor . Ive never heard of a boost leak through a PCV valve ?! Maybe an oil leak . Your car dying when you close the hood seems like a electrical problem with something hitting your battery . Make sure the terminals on the battery are clean and on tight . Good luck . :thumb:

had the same problem with my 92, there was a wingnut on one of my terminals and it would contact the hood and kill the car, i put an actual nut on there and never happened again. your probably shorting with your hood somewhere

Thanks guys I fixed the battery issue. Still dies but one more thing fixed . Now there only slight jolting of car at higher boost I ain't able to floor it. This kinda sucks because I have few mustangs Buddys ready to take me to track next month.

Try looking at your alternator, could be going out.
I have a very similar issue, so Ill definitely keep tabs on this thread.
However, If you take a look at your alternator there might be the slight chance your power steering fluid is leaking on the alternator and damaging it.

Here are some things to consider---
Do rpms drop when roll down window button is held down?
Do your service lights come on slightly making them more visible?
You ever find yourself low on ps fluid?

its you MAF i can almost guaruntee.... go out to your car while its running and start tapping on you MAF assembly. if you notice idle change or the car dies then your MAF is bad! hope i helped!
