On Wednesday I changed the turbo to manifold and exhaust manifold gasket. As well as installed rc1200cc injectors. On the way to the track my car started to act up so I pulled to the side of the freeway. After I turned the car off it wouldn't turn back on unless I pressed the throttle. I started to check things and noticed I forgot to tighten the turbo to manifold bolt. So I tightened them and while doing that the dam wrench flipped around and stuck to my chest from how hot it was. I got third degree burns to my chest but didnt go to the hospital so I could try to fix the car. I didn't want to leave on the side of e freeway and my AAA Wouldn't tow me because it was low. My brother say me, pulled over and took me to my house to get my old injectors to try to see if that works. I out them in and go to change the tune and can't find my MacBook. I left it on the trunk and we drove off and lost it by my house somewhere. So I get a ride to best buy and buy another one. Change the injector deadtime and still no start. I ended paying to get it towed home.

In the days since then I checked for voltage at the cas, battery, and injectors and injector plugs. All was good. I noticed my voltage was low when trying to start it yesterday according to a log, so I went and purchased a optima red top battery. I also purchased new plug wires because I noticed white stuff on the bottom of them when I pulled them. I also changed out my CAS to my spare one. I changed the fuel pump filter. The day before it started messing up I changed the fuel pump.

Today I changed the exhaust manifold and turbo gasket. Also got a new bolt for the one I stripped on the turbo to mani. The car has good fuel pressure and voltage. The car would start only if I give it throttle. Once it startes it would stumble and would not stay on unless I keep giving it gas. Today, it would idle after starting it and I was able to drive it into my driveway to get it off the street. After doing the gaskets today I started it and it would idle and not die, but when I give it gas it would want to die, unless I push the pedal in and out really fast then it would rev to the launch limit.

Here goes some videos. Please anyone that has a suggestion or advice please post ASAP for I need to get my car running because my wife's car won't pass smog and tags expire tomorrow and we need a car to be able to go to the hospital if needed because my wife is pregnant.

If you are running dsm link(ecm link) why don't you post a log file because whatever you have going on will most likely be visible there.

Definitely post a log. It'll be easier for people to help diagnose an issue. Have you done a boost leak test? And in your second video, is that your check engine light on? What code is that for?

That is a crazy story! Your symptoms sound like an issue in the intake system. A missing/loose/broken vacuum line or a malfunctioning MAF, maybe?

It sounds like you dropped a valve or jumped time. It makes almost no vacuum, and that sound is horrible. Do a compression test, and start tearing the engine down. Maybe skip it and focus on the other car so you don't end up delivering the baby at home.

Ps. Revving the crap out of it won't help.

here is a log before I did the videos and before I changed the exhaust manifold gaskets. I just looked it over and I notice that my vacuum is really low. Also the car shakes really bad when its on and I have poly mounts.

BTW I don't have a maf, im running SD. And the readings are correct beside the sensor is a mitsu style so its directly on the manifold.

colt: you honestly think I should start tearing it down? I mean I want to because I got a 6 bolt block that im trying to build and o far I got the crank turned, eagle h beams, acl race main and rod bearings, 6 bolt fwd flywheel, front case, pulleys, etc etc, what I need to finish would be pistons, rings, head gasket, timing belt, BSE kit and machine work. I know its a lot but if you honestly think that my engine is shot I should start ordering the parts. I don't have any tools to do a leak down or blt, but I can go to autozone and rent a compression tester and give that a shot to see if a bent any valves and then I can atleast check to see if I skipped a tooth. I forgot to mention too that the day this happened I installed my clear cover and when I took it off the intake cam gear had eaten into it quite a bit. Hm, and my vacuum is low now, maybe on to something LOL.

Please let me know what you sll think because I need to get on this and make it happen if I need to rip the engine out and build a short block.

And I know revving it wont help but I was trying to show you all what was going on.

The cel is front o2 and generator code 1500 or something like that. Not a big deal and has no involvement in whats going on.

Sounds like mine the other day. I spent hours and couldn't get mine to do anything but stumble and stall.

I put Gumout fuel injector and combustion cleaner and HEET water remover in the tank and filled it with gas cans and the problem is gone.

And you might check your plugs. I think that starting it with the gas pedal down can flood it, leaving your plugs soaked in fuel. I had to change my plugs after doing that, but I had just installed an AFPR and was adjusting it, so I can't say for sure which caused it.

I listen to the video and I would have to agree with colt there is something wrong internally to be making that much noise and running that bad. Compression test it and re check for any leaks but I would lean to the side of internal parts.

My friend bought a celica we got it all running and it sounded a lot like your car almost like a go kart and when he did compression test he had a dead cylinder the connecting rod had snapped in half would only run if you gave it gas and had very little power. I hope its not that extreme but tear it down fix it right the first time and hopefully will not have any problems hear on out. From the mods you were listen and the forums you posted on the fwd 11" would be best to rebuild so you know its strong to get the numbers your looking for. Hope all work out for ya and congrats on the baby on the way.

Yeppers time for a rebuild buddy. make sure its done right all the proper machining or you will be sorry later when it leaks. hope all goes well.

sorry - my advice about flooding was pertaining to the no start condition you described.

Now that I can watch/listen to the videos, there's definitely something mechanically wrong. It almost sounds like the problem I'm having with mine!

It's at the same temperature too - almost warmed up. (I can see your gauge in the 2nd video). Did it just start ticking when it got that temperature, or does it do it all the time?

The ticking you hear is the injectors. I found the problem or atleast know my engine is shot. No compression in 2 and 3. I already started to tear it down. After taking two hours to clean my garage to put it in there LOL it's a super tight fit and I have a 6 bolt block I'm building now. Ordered gates racing belt, and got almost all needed to build it. Just need head studs, got 7 bolt arp new but i need 6 bolt. Also need head gasket kit, pistons and machining.

Already got the crank at the shop getting turned. So far I got ACL race main and rod bearings, eagle h beams, arp 2000 rod bolts, 6 bolt act flywheel, new xtd stage 4 unpsrung 6 puck, venom I take manifold, and bunch other goodies. I'm diving head first into my wallet LOL. I really want to get back to the track by the end of the season to make a couple passes. But trust and believe I will take my time, measure twice, cut once, and build it right. Wish me luck. Looks like its time for my build thread.
