Ok 95 eclipse GST original 7 bolt, took a left turn and lost all give in the clutch. Completely, wouldnt even engage to shift gears, had to float the gears all the way to the shop. The shop replaced the clutch.

Well now its super tight, and will engage, but there is no give, no kick, you dont even have to even out the clutch and gas. You can plainly dump it and it will go into gear..but the problem is its getting mostly free spin.

You can Rev the engine and it will just sit and spin and barely anything will get to the wheels. I took it back, the shop thought they had fixed it, but then we noticed it happens worse when it gets hot.

The car will get no power to the wheels for some reason. Also it keeps grinding 1st no matter what. Could be a synchro, but idk.

Does anyone have any ideas?! The shop wants to replace the clutch AGAIN but I know this cant be the problem, they are just wasting time.:idontknow:

did they use the alignment tool? as they aligned the clutch disc right is the slave cylinder in place did they prime it right?? or have you checked if the slave cylinder working properly?

If they want to replace the clutch again....thinking they messed something up. Well then they pay for it.

Best advice I can give you at this point. But the clutch pedal should be properly adjusted.

yeah it ended up being a clutch adjustment, but now the engine is randomly knocking, sounds like a piston. No reason why...no idea how it happened. Also gas is in the oil. Thanks for the help though everyone, i really appreciate it

Could be a head gasket, or if the rod went it could have scored the block wall giving the fuel a channel to get into the oil!

The symptoms you are describing are suggestive of crankwalk. Have the shop measure the amount of end play/front to back movement of the crankshaft.

If the clutch is not causing problems now I think you are probably okay on the CW. It's not something that cures itself, it would just get worse. If CW concerns you, jack up the car, measure off something solid on the block and pry gently towards and away from the trans on the crank pulley to see if you can measure a large amount of endplay slop.

I'm imagining that you could have spun a rod bearing from free-revving when you had the clutch issue. You may have another more serious issue, but IMO the gas in the oil is probably an unrelated problem. How long ago was the last oil change and have you checked the PCV function lately?

Highly doubtful. More likely your running rich + getting blow by if you have gas in your oil.
