Car hesitates, then boosts.

K, I have a Hybrid first off. DOHC on a SOHC 2.4, I am yet to install my GST ECU. All of the sudden a few weeks ago, when I get on it, my car sputters and pops, then it boosts. I am going to install my ECU on Sunday, and hopefully that'll cure the problems.

Help me. I can drive around normal then go to floor it to drop down a gear, only for my boost gauge to go to about 6 or 7 psi, and my motor will sputter and pop and then after I let off the throttle a lil it'll boost to 12 and take off.
