my cars been sitting on jackstands in the garage for a few weeks now. The battery will die from sitting there because i only start it up for a couple minutes each week to hear how it runs etc. The reason its up on jack stands is because im upgrading things on it... the only thing I have changed since the last start up is I took off my shocks / springs, and haven't put the new ones on. I went to start my car today by hooking up my battery charger (powered from the wall) and when I connect the 2 terminals I get no response. I triple checked my connections and they are solid. There is a light that comes on the machine and says 'terminals connected properly' every other time I have ever used it... now, no lights turn on. I connected the charger to my other car, and the light when right on and it gave charge. Am I loosing a ground by not having my shocks / springs and all the bolts associated with them not connected? what else could be the problem? the battery is only 4 months old, practically brand new. Kind of stumped here. Thanks.

Well I don't think your springs and shocks have much to do with your battery problem. If your battery is only 4 months old and you start your car twice a week your battery should not be dead.

1. take out your battery and put on the charger
2. check your wires to the battery make sure everything is hooked up and grounded

If your battery is dead make sure you don't have anything that stays on which would cause your battery to die(stereo, light, etc.) :dsm: :thumb:

your battery could be realy dead... try putting a trickle charge(2 amp charge) on it for a couple days and see what happens.

I disconnected the connection from the wall when I gave up for the day.. walked out to the garage later to take out the garbage and somehow the light on the charger turned on and the car had some juice. Weird, but hey, it works :) thanks for your help guys. Gave you positive reputation points for the help.
