Hey guys,
well my car feels kinda sluggish with the install of my apexi 3" turbo-back, it feels like i need to punch it more to get some power, also sometimes like the turbo spools up but nothing happens at the wheels, was that all about?

If all you installed was a catback then I wouldnt expect to see much gains. You really need to full exhaust with a downpipe and either hi-flo cat/ test pipe to really get the full effect from a free flowing exhaust.

I am not sure why the car would feel more sluggish, but I wouldnt look to see much of a increase with just a catback.

Another thing is you might have too little backpreasure. This will resort in a lower weight in torque and cause a more sluggish takeoff. But a more prominent high RPM power gain. If this is the case you might want to think about dropping the pipe diameter to 2.5" so you ave a more linear torque band which will alow good accel. throught out your HP range.

Why not get a real turbo to make the necessary exh. flow? I assume you still have the t-2 small.

Lots of people complain about this when installing a full 3" turboback on stock cars, (I don't know how the cat-back thing came to be).

I'm not familiar with your upgrades, can you explain them? If running mostly stock, get a boost controller and run 14 or 15psi. Get some hard IC pipes too and your car will be a lot faster, (better gas milage too).

Thats about as good of advice as you can get. :thumb:

oh i forgot to add i have a 14b @16psi, UICP + 1g BOV and the system is full turbo-back, the downpipe is 2.5" till the flex(i changed it to avoid a problem like this i'm having)

I really don't know what's the deal, it feels like it's hollow, like i need a big ass turbo or something

Wow, that should not be happening with a 14B at 16psi if the problem is related to too little backpressure. How does the spool time compare to beofre the exhaust install? If it isn't as fast or noticably quicker with the 3" than it was with the stock, your problem lies elsewhere. Try doing a boost leak check.

Yeah really. MY full exhaust on my big 16g felt like a completely different car. Sometihng is def wrong then. Boost leaks and what type of fuel parts do you have?

hey
well i was told i have a pump and it whines but i haven't checked it out, the car doesn't hit fuel cut or anything, well the car feels kinda harder to drive, it spools up a little bit slower but man it is faster, i was doing 93mph traps on the 1/4 mile and today i did 97mph OMG

It kinda feels like i need to know how to drive the car now, i mean before i used to punch it like in 3rd gear and the car would spool up and move quickly, now it takes more time but it's more powerful

so would i be an idiot if i got full 3 inch on the t-25 ?? what abou the 14b im getting one for free. this is on a 97 gsx
