Car failed smog b/c of one hose?

Has anyone ever heard of a car failing CA smog test becuase of ONE silicon hose???

The tech said he failed me because my hose from the valve cover to the PCV valve was not BAR approved. Is this really a law?? My car passed all other tests! Except for a damn 5" piece of hose. And if it really does need to be a BAR approved hose how the hell does he know its not? He also didnt seem to have a problem with any of the other silicon hoses(all of them have been replaced). What gives should I file a complaint with BAR? I can't find any info that says I cant have a silicon hose on my car?

Oh and this car has passed smog before with no problems.
Are there any smog techs out there that can answer this for me? I'm about to shove this hose up his ass.

take it to someone else. If your pcv valve is working properly and routed back to the intake manifold and the hose is not broken or leaking then you should have no problem. There are some really stupid smog techs out there. Just take it to someone else

BAR is not who approves aftermarket parts. CARB is. I've not heard of "CARB Approved" hoses or tubing. Call CARB, and BAR, and ask them. And report the dorkyanker. Sounds like crap.
