This just started. It does okay when your stopped, but driving and shifting is a big problem.
When its in a good mood, it only wants to die while shifting. Just, regular, 2.5K shift. The RPMs will drop almost to 0, then I release the clutch, and they jump back up to around 1.5K in the next gear. I hear Clicks in the dash when it dies.

Now, when its pissed, it blames me for what ever happened. It will die, while accelerating, and it gives you a nice HARD jerking wake up call. And it will keep doing it till its satisfied. Yesterday, It decided to do it up hill, going 20mph. I got to try to coast 2 blocks to my house. Fun fun. Massive clicking from the dash, like, double speed hazard clicking.

Any Ideas?

If we were discussing a 1g, I'd say bad ecu, but its not so common with the 2gs.

Is the clicking coming from the right side of the center console? If so, see if the ecu smells fishy, then check battery cable connections. The then mpi fuse and relay for terminal corrosion and/or poor terminal retention. It sounds like the ecu is rebooting, the mpi relay is dieing, or losing its power, so use your judgment and see what you come up with.

scribd.com, search "97-99el" to find a service manual. I know its a 96 but thats the best we've got.** mpi relay wiring is different than yours in this rendition of the fsm.
