okay first my mods i guess
fresh rebuilt motor
rs49t at 19psi
3'GM maft
safcII
660cc injectors
fidanza flywheel
tre tranny
exedy clutch
dejon piping and SSMIC
boost controller
blitz bov
3"turbo back

okay heres my problem was comming back, car was running great but as i was taking it easy comming home my car just dies like if someone turned the key off. If i would try and restart it would just crank over but not fire.(as if you pulled the MFI relay and where doing a compession test) anyway im looking for some help diagnosing this problem as im not completly convinced i found it.

things iv checked
1. upper timing marks are aligned
2. MFI and fuel pump relay are good
3. pressure in the fuel rail
4. sparks on spark plug
5. tested the resistance of injectors all 3ohm
6. tested the CAS
7. made sure ecu is getting airflow signal

now here is where i run into the problem the injectors are not firing at all. i tested at the ECU and the 4 pins for the injectors i can not get any reading (testing by backprobing the plugs going into the ecu) but the rest of the pins for the ecu read what they are suppose to. I ripped the ecu out to look for leaking capaciters and it looks fine. now i havent removed my lower timing to check that but i only have 11k on the new belt so i figure my timing should be good.

So i need all your guys opinions on this and things i can do.

do you have a cel? check to see if there are any stored codes in the ecu, if so this might help http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191516

Yes i checked my logger for any CEL and none are comming on If i unhook the CAS and crank it i thorws the code for it but as soon as i plug it back in and clear the code it stays off so the daignose function on my ecu still works

well i think i might just replace the ECU unless someone can think of something else it might be.

Also i really need to know what ECU can i use as i can get one out of a 95 AWD turbo to go in my 98 FWD turbo ive heard the ecus are the same but they all have different part numbers so i just want to make sure i can use one out of a diff year/model (assuming its turbo obviously)

My car did the same thing. Do you have a MAFT? Check that, ### mine is throwing the code for Air/Fuel Metering. Hope that helps any.

Hello i do have MAFT but i tested it for a signal and it is indeed workin. also if the maft gave out on me it would cause the car to stall but the injectors would still be firing my problem is the injectors arent firing at all. also i have no codes

You seem to understand the ECU pretty good and i dont quite understand what you meant in your last post should the ecu read 12v when im cranking the car or when i stop cranking at it is resting on the ON posisiton.

You should see battery voltage at the ECU pins for the injectors with the ignition on. That's pretty specific.

The ignition switch has to be in the RUN position for there to be power to the MPI circuit.

From there power is applied to the injector resistors and then it goes to each of the injectors. Since the ECU isn't trying to fire any of the injectors there isn't any current flowing and no voltage drop across ant resistance including the injector coils so you'll see battery voltage at the 4 pins on the ECU for the injectors.

If you check while cranking your see the voltage at the ECU on those pins going from battery voltage to close to 0v as the ECU tried to fire each injector. The problem is it happens so quickly (on the order of 2 milliseconds per pulse) that a normal meter can't show anything.

okay well then from your description my ecu is acting normal because with the car in run possition it has 12v and soon as you start cranking it shuts off which i why i thought my ECU was fried but this is how i understand it works now by your description so i think i should be looking at the resistor. But my haynes manual doesnt touch anything on the resistors for the injectors so how do i go about testing them as well where about in the engine bay am i looking for these as ive never worked on a car with low impedance injectors before.

Also i know both my fuel pump relay and the MFI relay are both good and all fuses are in good shape.

okay i really need a answer to where do i find the resistor pack on a 2g turbo eclipse im borrowing my friends multimeter for the day so i need to know quick. also what would be the proper testing procedure for testing it. Please help fast i know the one for 1g is on the firewall but cant find nothing on 2g someone has to know.
