Just as the title state's. My car crank's, there's spark but no start. I think it's the fuel pump because when I select fuel pump in dsmlink the pump does not come on at all. I just hear a click behind the glove box. Can someone give me a little insight on this matter please. It just happened to me last night. We push started the car and it fired right up.

Thanks,
Ryan H.

Well, I tested for power at the fuel pump harness while cranking using a test light. I started cranking and the light lit up nice and bright. I put the harness back on and pushed it on nice and tight and the car fired right up. I guess the harness vibrated loose and there wasn't a good connection. Who know's but the car is running again. Thanks for all of your input for those of you who contributed.
i second that. if the car is running when you pushed it then the pump must be working.....or atleast for the time when you pushed it.the click that you hear is probally the fuel pump relay poss.? you would really have to listen for the relay tho so im not sure bout that. but check the relay and wiring to the pump and make sure thats all good, check power to the pump when the car is just cranking and wont start.

Ok, so the fuel pump relay is under the radio on th passenger's side behind the plastic cover right? I guess I should just buy a new relay and try that first and then just go from there.

I've tried to search how to test the relay but don't really understand. Do I just use an ohm meter and jumper's right off of the battery or what? I need someone to explain it to me in moron because I'm an idiot. What's really bugging me is a few month's ago I was playing with dsmlink and with the key turned on when I selected the fuel pump under the misc. option you could hear the pump come on loud and clear. Now all i can hear is just one click sound when I push the fuel pump button. Does this sound like a relay problem?

It sounds to me like the pump is crapping out. The jolt from push starting it combined with the extra current you weren't using to crank it must have let you luckilly start it.

If you can get at the wires to the fuel pump, unplug them and connect them to an old halogen headlamp bulb you have laying around. If you turn on the key or select fuel pump on your scanner while you watch this bulb, it should light up bright and strong. If it does, plug it back in and try again. If you still don't hear a pump runing it must be shot. If it doesn't light up or if it lights weak, check it at the relay. If it's bright at the relay, look for a coroded wire between the relay and the pump. Remember though, sometimes if you bump the tank or pump at all it may start to run again so test everything redundantly to be sure.

Bend the prong's of the bulb so they go into the power and ground of the harness right?
