i got a 97 gsx, it has an intake, big 16g evo 3 turbo, fmic and apexi full exhaust, greddy type s bov....when driving normally it boosts fine, but when the gauge shows like 3/4 boost it cuts hard while on throttle, even if easing on the throttle. one the turbo hits like 3/4 boost the car cuts hard :banghead:. did a boost leak test and fixed all the leaks, still have the problem tho. any ideas? should be running stock boost, w.e that is exactly LOL...any ideas of what to do next? i'm thinking maybe its fuel cut?

You should get an aftermarket boost gauge, its hard to tell with the stock one. Are you running stock 450cc injectors? Same

You need to get a aftermarket boost gauge the stock gauge tells you nothing. Stock boost is 12psi. When you hit boost does it feel like your hitting a brick wall then its taking off again?

Im having the same exact problem with the same exact mods except the turbo, should i just do a walbro 190?

you are knocking really crazy, you shouldnt drive it as hard until you upgrade the injectors and pump, i had a valve blowed up because my car was doing the same thing and i didnt know what it was, aftermarket boost gauge for sure, so you'll know whats going on

ok so how can you run stock boost on an aftermarket turbo?serious question btw not being a douche you are probably running way more boost than you think everything ive read says fuel cut is usually around 15 psi (usualy) on a stock fuel system feel free to correct me im not the smartest when it comes to these cars

and whether you need both pump and injectors will depend on how much boost you are actually running i found a boost gauge on the internet for like 20 something bucks a few months back i would link it but i cant seem to find it any more anyways a cheap boost gauge is better than the stock one/nothing

yea i'm getting a boost gauge and wally 255 pump soon. i guess we will se what happens after that

a couple of my friends with gsx's said that i can just get an safc and i'll be good with stock injectors...that somewhat true??
