Hi guys, im new to DSMs and have a problem... i have a 1997 Eclipse GST Syder. I bought it with a engine that had a crankwalk. I bought a 1993 7 bolt couple months ago and installed it into my car. The 1993 block had removed balance shaft, apr studs, and evo springs and retainers. so pretty much the head rebuild. Also the car had been standing in storage for 3 years, so i drained the gas and put a full new tank of gas in it.

So once i installed the engine, i car idled fine, when i took it out for a spin it ran good, but in 3rd it starts for really bog around 3k rpms and also in 4th and 5th gear. I have a scantool data logger and the 02 readings go from .000-.002 mv. and white smoke.

what is causing it to run so lean? ive checked for boost leaks, changed my maf, changed injectors, changed fuel filter.

i have a stock engine except for an areomotive fuel rail and regulator set at 43psi. Also have an safc neo which is installed but no tunning done to the car yet. or is it the neo thats messing it up? it did the same thing befor the safc was installed. The timing is set and at idle the 8 advance timing at 750-850 rpms. no knock...(new knock sensor)

Any input would help.

Your o2 isn't cycling as it should be going up to 0.80v. White smoke indicates coolant being burned which is most likely the head gasket.

I would suggest doing a leak down test to verify the head gasket probability.

coolant isnt leaking anywhere...left me calfiy the white smoke. when at idle or wot, it doesnt smoke. when i hit it and let it off it shoots smoke. not the puffy smoke when you see a blown head gasket. or after i let of the gas it gives of white smoke. the oil level and coolant are at their normal level.
