Hey guys, I just picked up a gst with a 16g turbo and its bogging out in first gear I get through then second gear starts jerking me like I just learned stick, then.. it cuts back in kinda but then I shift right away. And then same for all gears I cant get over 80 mph cause it does that jerking feeling. I am between 15 and 19 psi Ill have to watch more closely next time.. but yeah any help would be great. I checked for leak best I could and everything seemed on there good and tight. I'm thinking needs a better fuel pump and injectors and a good tune but if there is a way to fix please help me out. I wanna drive my car!!!!
Thanks!!!!

most likely you have a boost leak.
if your concerned if its fuel related turn on your car, if it doesn't idle correctly you have a vacuum leak, if it does idle correctly while the car is on lean over to where your injectors are and look for a leak or if you can smell gas you need to replace the o-rings on your injectors. make sure there's a pulse going through your injector pigtail.
and you need to fix that boost creep also.

Thanks guys, I thought it was probably fuel as well. Also I was suggested to replace my spark plugs too would that affect anything? And how can i test for a boost leak? And when I mean 15-19 psi thats when it does it thats my cars rough psi level just by looking at a glance. I wanna get it fixed I cant really enjoy my car so any like walk through info would help a lot! thanks guys!!!!

Sounds like a boost leak to me. A boost leak test should be the first thing done before doing anything else.

What happens if I have similar problems, including rough idle, on a 2g NA?

Its a whole different engine (420a).

For a rough idle you might want to do a tune up. (spark plugs and wires.)
Check coil pack. Vacuum leaks.
Check your Iac valve, Tps and clean your Throttle body.

This is just an fair guess since you didn't provide any more info.

Where can I pick up one of the gauges? to do a boost leak test?

Its been there for Two days. :thumb:

:tease: THANKS BUDDY ;) LOL

Ok so I called around and my buddy told me boost leak.. and he said go to 4th or 5th gear and accelerate and if the psi level drops while it sputters its a boost leak. And sure enough the psi was at like 18 dropped down to like ten so yeah is his info correct? just wanna get sure info from others thanks!!
