car back fired then cheack engine light cam on then the car ran fine car is basicly stock the engine light went off about 30seconds after it back fired

K&N filter
tubuler manifold
open down pipe

this is in my 90 tsi could that have been fuel cut ?

No, it doesn't sound like fuel cut. How fast/what RPM did it happen at?
Pull the code and see what the ECU thinks is wrong. Even if the light is off there should be a stored code.
