I have been having this problem with my car alarm since i got my talon, The problem is that if i unlock my door with my key the car alarm will go off and the only way that i can make it stop is to disconnect the battery which = big pain in the butt because i have dsm link and i have to retune my computer each time the battery gets disconnected. Nothing else that i do will make the alarm shut off, even if i put the key in the ignition and drive down the road the lights will still be blinking and the horn going off. I usually dont have many issues if i only use my remote to unlock the doors but if i lose the remote i will be screwed. Is there some way to fix this? Someone told me that there is some sensor in the door that could be causing my problems??? But if it were just a bad sensor why wont it deactivate?? And is there any way that i can make it so that i dont have to retune every time i disconnect the battery?

there a wire going to the door that u have to intercept with the alarm system. I wanna say its a green wire. Thus, the alarm will deactivate the factory alarm. The problem is the factory alarm and the aftermarket alarm are not working together. You can deactivate the factory one by putting the key in the DRIVER'S door lock and lock and unlock it. This should shut it off instead of having to disengage the battery terminal.

Yeah you should be able to turn the alarm off by locking/unlocking the driver door. I had the same problem, the alarm wouldn't turn off so I locked/unlocked the driver door and luckily it shut off. Hopefully you figure something out.

Did any of this advice help you? I have the same problem and it didn't help me. Did these cars come with factory remotes that works a keyless entry system or something? It is a pain to have to disconnect the battery because of this crazy alarm system. Can the factory alarm be bypassed?

I had the same exact problem, and It turned out to be the little sensor in the door everyone else has talked about was lose. Becasue when mine went off unlocking and locking the driver's side door wouldn't help either. All i did was pop the door panel off and reattached the sensor so it was tight and I haven't had any problems since.
