I'm trying to find a problem somewhere in my ignition. My car's RPMs randomly jump all over the place, normally when I start from a stop. Occasionally it dies. I'm checking my power transistor, and when I do, on my ohmmeter the volts go negative. If I switch the + and - connectors on the ohmmeter around the volts go up. Does this mean I have a bad transistor?

No, I wish I did, because I don't really want to buy another one and find out its not the problem. But I can't find anything else that would be the problem.

What kind of transistor would I buy? Its a 6-bolt swap in a 2g, and I cant tell if mine is a 1g or a 2g one. The part number on mine doesn't match either.

My power transistor is my problem, but I still don't know what year I should get. Its a 7 prong transistor.
